Iris Amelia Alioto, a dance teacher, translator, actress, and model, is making history as the first senior citizen in Argentina to compete for the title. Should she win the regional pageant, she will advance to Miss Universe Argentina, with the chance to represent the country on the global stage.
In another notable development, 69-year-old Jocelyn Cubales, also known as Joyce Penas Pilarsky, is gaining attention as a contestant in the Miss Universe Philippines-Quezon City pageant. A seasoned fashion designer, Cubales has previously participated in numerous beauty contests internationally and was the first Filipino to join Mrs. Universe 2017, where she earned recognition for her advocacy work. She has also held titles such as Mrs. Philippines Germany and Mrs. Asia International.

Should Jocelyn win the MUPH-QC title on February 5, she will represent Quezon City in the 2024 Miss Universe Philippines competition.
The MUO recently updated its rules to allow women over 28 to compete, along with transgender women, divorced women, wives, and mothers, marking a significant shift in the pageant's inclusivity standards.
