Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week Hosts 400 Brands from 35 Countries

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) 2024 kicked off in Barcelona, showcasing the latest bridal fashion designs to the world. The event began with a striking artistic installation by theater group La Fura dels Baus. Titled 'Barcelona Goes Bridal!', the six-meter-tall rotating structure on Maria Cristina Avenue features 30 wedding dresses from Catalan designers.

BBFW director Albasarí Caro stated that the installation aims to "bring the show closer to the city" and spotlight Catalan talent. This year's event, running until April 21, features over 400 brands from 35 countries, marking a 14% increase from last year.

The Fira de Barcelona's director general, Constantí Serrallonga, hailed this edition as the "most international" in BBFW's history. He emphasized that BBFW has become the world's leading bridal fashion fair.

Jesús Peiró opened the runway shows, with 37 international designers set to present their collections from Wednesday to Sunday. Alongside the fashion shows, the Montjuïc venue hosts the BBFW trade show, featuring over 400 exhibitors, 80% of whom are international brands.

The fair is expected to generate an economic impact of €61.5 million.
