Runway Anguilla 2017: A Charity Event for Community Support
Sometimes, a girl just needs to slip into a little black dress, add some heels, and shine. Runway Anguilla provided the perfect occasion to do just that this weekend.

Runway Anguilla is an annual charity fashion show that supports community causes. This year, the proceeds were dedicated to providing medical assistance for the elderly and educational support for youth.

The event took place at The Yacht Club at The Reef by Cuisinart, a stunning venue that set the stage for a memorable evening. Before Nash and I made our way down the elegant spiral staircase at the hotel, we stopped in the lobby to capture some photos. The resort’s décor was simply beautiful.

Over the years, Runway Anguilla has built a strong reputation for offering great food, fun, fashion, friends, and funding. This was my first time dining at the Yacht Club, and I was looking forward to it. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as guests eagerly anticipated both dinner and the fashion show.

Each table was adorned with gorgeous centerpieces designed by Carrol Shannon. Nash and I settled into a cozy booth, joined by Carla and Jansie.

Emcee – Janine Edwards
The evening’s emcee, Janine Edwards, did an excellent job welcoming guests and keeping the event lively. The platinum sponsor for the evening was The Reef by Cuisinart, with FLOW as the supporting sponsor. Brief remarks were given by Mr. Stephane Zaharia, General Manager of Cuisinart Golf Resort and Spa, and Ms. Jade Reymond, Commercial Manager for FLOW, before dinner began.
Dinner at The Reef by Cuisinart – Runway Anguilla
The dinner format was a departure from previous years, with a seated four-course meal. The first course was a delightful green salad, followed by succulent crayfish as the second course. The third course featured a tender petit filet mignon, and the evening concluded with a decadent chocolate dessert.

Doesn’t it look yummy?

The Fashion Show – Let’s Hit the Runway
After the delicious dinner, it was time for the main event – the fashion show! This year’s show featured fewer designers and boutiques, but the quality of the presentation was exceptional. The theme for the evening was “Let’s Transform It! Revamp Your Closet, Dress for Less.”
Blu Boutique and Collette Jones-Chin
The first segment highlighted fashion from Blu Boutique and designer Collette Jones-Chin. I loved the easy-going, comfortable vibe of both collections.

What’s in Your Closet? Runway Anguilla 2017
The second segment, titled “What’s in Your Closet?” by Collette Jones-Chin and Charlina Laville, encouraged models to select clothes from their closets that were no longer worn or didn’t fit. These pieces were revamped or reimagined into new outfits, which were then modeled on the runway.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team ensured the success of the evening. Sven Hage was the event’s main photographer, while Claire Hage served as music director and choreographer. Valerie Zaharia handled graphic design, and the models’ hair was styled by Nails R Hair. Makeup was done by Rena Ruan and Montre Edwards, and DJ Mike provided the entertainment.

The event was made possible by generous sponsors, including Ani Villas, Zemi Beach House, Properties in Paradise Anguilla, Anguilla Villa Company, Sunset Homes, Island Dream, Kobbe Design, Goat Milk Soaps, Straw Hat, Sandbar, Valley Bistro, and Straw Hat. The My Anguilla Experience also proudly supported the event.
Here’s to the Runway Anguilla team for delivering another fantastic event!
