Elton Ilirjani Shines at Costa Rica Fashion Week as Supermodel and Activist

Elton Ilirjani Dominates Costa Rica Fashion Week 2024 With Powerful Runway Presence and Activism

SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA, August 27, 2024 — As anticipation builds for New York Fashion Week, global attention turned south to the 23rd Edition of Costa Rica Fashion Week, where international supermodel, activist, and philanthropist Elton Ilirjani took center stage. Over the course of two days, Ilirjani opened four major runway shows, representing a mix of fashion innovation and social causes.

He launched the event with a standout performance for Maria Jose Chavarria Ruiz of the INA (Instituto Nacional de Aprendizaje) at the historic Antigua Aduana. Following this, Ilirjani graced the runway for Venezuelan label AMAG by Nolys Rodriguez, a brand known for empowering modern women with sustainable elegance. Closing that show, he also expressed solidarity with wheelchair model Chavarria Campos Esteban.

Ilirjani returned to support the UNFPA Bodyright Campaign, standing in silence alongside actress Fedra to highlight violence against women and advocate against femicide. Their powerful message concluded with a unified call: “Stop femicides! You are not alone!”

Capping off the week, Ilirjani closed the final runway for Bolivian brand Weise, led by designer Ericka Suarez Weise, whose collection drew inspiration from Bolivia’s iconic Pirai River.

Costa Rica Fashion Week 2024, held from August 19–24 under the theme “Forever Green,” emphasized sustainable fashion in partnership with the Planta mi árbol (Plant My Tree) Foundation. The event continues to provide a stage for emerging Latin American designers focused on eco-conscious creativity.
