Cubel Makes Historic Debut at Paris Fashion Week with Entretejidos Collection
Colombian brand Cubel marked a significant milestone at Paris Fashion Week 2025 with the presentation of "Entretejidos" (Interwoven), a collection that masterfully bridges the gap between traditional Colombian craftsmanship and avant-garde tailoring. Running from March 3 to March 11, the global event served as the backdrop for Cubel to solidify its status as one of Latin America's most innovative fashion houses.

The "Entretejidos" collection closed The Lab platform’s official calendar on Saturday at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse. The showcase featured a rich textile palette, including textured leathers, alpaca, wool, and fibers engineered to mimic the delicate appearance of feathers. These were complemented by woven hats that offered a contemporary reinterpretation of indigenous traditions.
Celebrating a decade of textile exploration, "Entretejidos" reimagines traditional Colombian rural attire through a modern lens. The collection draws inspiration from the complex cultural blending of Indigenous, European, and African heritage that has shaped the country's rustic clothing for centuries.
Design and Craftsmanship
Cubel’s signature experimental tailoring was on full display, with iconic garments like the poncho and ruana being reinvented through layered silhouettes and unexpected sporty elements. High-relief textures on the fabrics pay homage to traditional woven baskets, while the strategic combination of natural and recycled fibers—including leather, alpaca, wool, and lyocell cotton—underscores the brand's deep commitment to sustainability and material innovation.
Historical research played a pivotal role in the collection's development. By studying pieces at the Museum of Costume in Bogotá, designer Humberto Cubides found inspiration in pleats, traditional embroidery, and rural skirt structures. These elements were deconstructed and reimagined using linear forms inspired by mola textile techniques, emphasizing the profound connection between the body and fabric as an extension of personal and cultural identity.
Collaborative Artisanship
"Entretejidos" is also a testament to collaborative creation. A special partnership with Woma Hatmakers and artisans from Sopó, Cundinamarca, led by Cecilia Alarcón, produced woven hats and caps that symbolize the interconnectedness of thought, labor, and handcraft.
This collaboration is a cornerstone of the Cubel ethos. By working closely with indigenous communities and local artists, the brand integrates ancestral techniques into contemporary design, promoting a model of co-creation that honors traditional expertise. Ultimately, "Entretejidos" serves as both a tribute to Colombia's cultural wealth and a bridge between its past and present, positioning fashion as a powerful medium for cultural expression.
